    This is misleading. The Indian statistic is calculated differently from the world standard. In February 2015, the Indian government simply changed the way it calculated the GDP and added more than 2 percentage points to its growth rate. By the old yardstick, India’s economy ought to be seen as still limping at around 5 percent growth.
