India’s latest economic growth numbers are expected to reflect the impact that the sudden withdrawal of currency notes in November had on the country.
So how has the economy been doing? Sales of two-wheelers are among the best indicators.

I have seen the BBC Clip…..showing that withdrawal of high currency notes from circulation by the Government of India have impacted the rural economy. Almost all the pundits think that the action by the Government was right and will benefit in the long term!
With regards to the sales of motorbikes, an indicator of economy? I find there are two issues, namely lack of other modes of transport for villages to carry their produce to the market, and the returned confidence in villagers —which is translated in the sales of two-wheels transport!
An added advantage is that motor-cyclists feel that they are the king of the road….a personal psychological boost!
